德國薩克森邦是學術之邦，擁有14間大學，其中最引人注目的就是身為菁英大學的德勒斯登工業大學。德勒斯登工業大學 非常重視研究，並與台積電、英飛凌（Infineon）和格羅方德（Global Foundries）等業界巨擘有著密切合作關係。

Saxony is considered a state of science with 14 universities, among which the Technische Universität Dresden stands out as an elite university. TUD Dresden University of Technology has a strong focus on research and powerful industry co-operations, among them TSMC, Infineon Technologies and GlobalFoundries.
In terms of the proportion of international students, Technische Universität Chemnitz ranks among the top state universities nationwide. You’ll find a unique combination of engineering, natural sciences, and mathematics with humanities, social sciences, and economics here.
The HTWK Leipzig University of Applied Sciences combines practice-oriented teaching and application-oriented research. The university's unique regional selling point is its broad engineering and technical profile.
Today, Dresden and Leipzig form Saxony's two major industrial clusters, with Dresden being particularly successful in attracting the IT industry and earning the name "Silicon Saxony". The new TSMC plant will be built in the north of Dresden, in the immediate vicinity of the Bosch factories.
